Natural Gas Installation, Gas Heating Installation
How to prepare for your natural gas installation
There are many standards that contractors must obey while doing your gas installation. In some cases, the installation can be held up due to some of the things that you have to do. In order to avoid a hold up, it always helps to know the things that you need to do in order to prepare for your installation.
One of the first things that you need to do is prepare at least three plot plans of the area that you want them to service. They also need the requirements of how much gas you will need along of the location that you want them to put the meter. There are also other requirements in accordance to the sidewalks and other things that you should find out from the company.
Finding out the requirements is a good idea, since this will give you an idea of any further costs you are responsible for, in the case that there are relocation or other things. When you want them to do the installation, they need the area cleaned of any debris, dirtpiles, or anything else for that matter. This is something that you should make sure of since they will often leave if they are unable to work in the conditions that are provided.
If there is any water in the area, you have to have it removed. No pipes can be installed when there is standing water in the way of where they need to put them. Stake off the area where the property line ends. Keep in mind there may be a requirement for you to furnish documents that show that you have rights to the property that you are having pipes and other things installed. It is always better to have this kind of stuff on hand, rather than having to look or get it later.
This is only a small guide for the stuff that you should do prior to your natural gas installation. This does not serve as a substitute for the information and guidelines provided to you by the company doing the work for you. You should always make sure to adhere to the specifications provided to you by the company that is planning to do the work for you. Failure to do so can result in a delay in the work getting done. So, always check with the company that you are working with to find out what needs to be done.
